THE Lewis Local Mod impressed the judges, due to the high standard of the competitors, including Joy Dunlop who was adjudicating on the island for the first time.
Chair of Mòd Ionadail Leòdhais, Amy Macaulay said that Joy adjudicated music and Gaelic at the Lewis Mod and had been impressed by the high standard of the competitors.

"The standard seems to get better every year and this is due to the work put in at the schools and in the home. We are really pleased with how everything went this year. There was a lovely atmosphere at the Mod and the weather was good, cold but dry.

"The youngsters like to meet other young folk year after year and they all enjoy taking part in the Mod.," she added.

For a two-page spread on the Lewis Mod, including colour photos - plus all the results - see this week's Stornoway Gazette.
