FEIS Tir and Eorna has come and gone again, and several youngsters from North Uist and further afield are that much better off for their new knowledge of Gaelic arts.
More than 90 children were in attendance at the feis in Paible school, learning clarsach, fiddl, and Gaelic singing as well as drums, accordion, guitar, drama and even shinty.
The Feis is made possible by the hard work of a dedicated group of parents, who have congratulated the kids for their excellent behaviour as well as their musical talent.
"To have 92 kids from all over that just gelled so well together was amazing, they deserve to be commended," said feis committee member Liz Johnson.
Liz also pointed out that the parents had done equally well with planning.
"We really struggle as a committee to keep going from year to year and we really need more support - we would like to get more parents involved locally," she said.
The preparations start in January, and we are basically working the whole year to plan the feis. It is very rewarding when you see what we churn out at the concert – it's amazing when you see what the tutors teach the kids in four days."
Parents who would like to get involved are welcome to contact any of the committee members.
