TALES of island transport will be the talk of the town this Saturday as the Western Isles Transport Preservation Group (WITPG) hold an open day in Stornoway Town Hall.
The special event will showcase a wide range of photographs, models and even some historical modes of transport.
One of these is a cart which was originally used to deliver 'Gazette's around the town during the 1970s!

The cart, which has been looked after by WITPG Vice Chair Calum Maclennan for the last 26 years, also made many appearances in the Lewis Carnival as part of the Gazette staff floats.

On display will be information on the history and aims of the WITPG and details of the history of vintage and classic commercial, agricultural and other vehicles.

To read more about this special event see this week's Stornoway Gazette, out on Thursday, January 28.
