Two launches for Ceòlas Uibhist ll CD

CEÒLAS Uibhist ll, the latest CD collection of island singers and musicians, is officially launched this week (Friday) at Celtic Connections during the 10th Anniversary concert for Lews Castle College's highly regarded music course in Benbecula.
A local launch is planned for Benbecula at MacGillivray's shop between 2 and 4pm on Saturday, February 6. Some of the singers and musicians featuring on the CD will be present for this event, which is to be followed by a ceilidh that evening at St Mary's, Griminish with the St Peter's Dance Club joining the launch celebrations. A special rate of £9 for the CD will be offered at all the launch events.

The CD contains songs and tunes from Catriona Garbutt, Duncan MacKinnon, Calum Iain McCorquodale and friends, Mary Margaret MacLean, Paul McCallum, Ruairidh MacKay, Na Deasaich, D.R.Campbell, Janice Simpson, John Alick MacKay, Kenny Campbell, Angus Alick MacDonald, Morag Nicolson and Sounds of Kilphedar – a true representation of island tradition bearers.
