The very first review here states that MacKinnon's bakery "is the other bakery in Stornoway."... that's not the case. MacKinnon's are THE bakery in Stornoway. Their town center shop is heaving every day and no wonder with such a massive lunch menu available, from cold filled sandwiches, hot filled rolls, soup and burgers etc.
The prices are more than reasonable and the staff friendly and efficient efficient.
Their 'order to collect' service is handy to avoid the School kid rush and their selection of baking goods and groceries help towards giving MacKinnon's the status of the number one bakery in Stornoway.
Not taking away from the quality of the others, but MacKinnon's certainly is second to none.
Now, it's 12.20 so Festival Roll and Chips for me, followed by a white chocolate strawberry eclair. Thanks now!

Mackinnons in the town centre is a great wee take-away shop.
They stock a wide variety of rolls and sandwiches as well as a selection of cakes, tinned goods, fresh bread and soft drinks.
The main bonus of mackinnons is that they have a large range of take-away hot food available: bacon rolls, cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, home made soup etc with a novel menu where different hot filling combination rolls are named after local shops.
Prices are very reasonable and staff are always friendly.
As with most shops in the town it gets super busy between 1 and 2 when the schoolkids are on their lunch.

Mackinnon’s bakery is the other bakery in Stornoway. They have a small yet great take out shop in the centre of town. They make their own fresh bread, rolls, sausage rolls, cakes and other baking daily. Each day they have a different soup available. Their large range of sandwiches and rolls are always tasty and popular.
Mackinnon’s also offers a range of hot foods – bacon rolls, cheeseburgers, chips. None of the food is overpriced and always tastes great. It’s surprising that they haven’t opened their own wee café yet.
Lunchtimes can be hectic as it is a favourite with the school kids, so it’s ideal to get there if possible before the lunchtime rush.
