THREE Lewis lassies teamed up with Carloway FC on Saturday (April 20th) to host a fund-raising extravaganza with a sponsored walk and Ceilidh which brought in over £2,000.

Judi Maclennan, Ceitlin Smith and Shirley Macleod are set to cycle from London to Paris this June to raise funds for Breast Cancer Campaign and highlight the importance of helping and supporting charities.

The sponsored walk and Ceilidh at the Cabarfeidh Hotel in Stornoway formed part of their fund-raising, which also helped collect monies for Carolway Football Club.

And following a successful day and evening on Saturday, the ladies said: “We would like to thank everyone for coming to our Ceilidh at the Cabarfeidh Hotel and to everyone who has supported our fund-raising efforts throughout.

“We really appreciate the support and our total from our fund-raising extravaganza on Saturday stands at over £2,000.”

The fund-raisers continued: “A special thank you to Tom Strathmore and all the Cabar staff for providing such an amazing venue; to the Stuart Taylor Ceilidh Band and all the local performers for making it such a success and to Bardon Hebrides; Delights; Sports World; CalMac; Spors Nis; Cross Stores; The Park Bar (Glasgow), and The Rangers Club for their generous donations and support.

“We would also like to thank our friends for their support and efforts: Marion Maclennan; Ashley Macleod; Naomi Buchanan, and Angela Macaskill.”
