STORNOWAY is turning Cosmopolitan; or Mojito; or Daiquiri.
A welcome addition to the town’s entertainments and public bars arrives this month with the launch of ‘Chili Chili’ cocktail nights, in The Jäger Room, upstairs at Era, South Beach Street, every Friday and Saturday.
The Chili Chili Cocktail and Vodka bar was conceived by bar owner Moray Weir following discussion with patrons of his other establishments.
“I was talking to some regular customers who were complaining that there was nowhere in Stornoway to drink properly made cocktails, premium vodkas of sparkling wines in warmth and comfort with a suitable noise level,” he said.
“This was not the first time I had heard this so decided to do something about it. The Jäger Room was being little used to be ideal in terms of size and ambience. Getting in the correct products and glassware was easy but the most important thing was to have the right staff fully trained in mixology, this along with suitable music was put in place,” continued Moray.
“Colin Macleod – The Boy Who Trapped The Sun – has a residency on Saturday nights with an easy flawless mix of his own songs and some covers.
“Along with guest musicians and subtle background music on other nights this makes for a relaxed convivial atmosphere.”
The Chili Chili Cocktail and Vodka bar is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm and other nights of the week will be added as the season progresses.
