BBC ALBA’s Christmas Eve Gaelic service Oidhche Naomh comes from St Mary & St Finnan Church, Glenfinnan in Lochaber this year.

The ecumenical celebration – screened tonight (Monday, December 24th) – will feature an address by Fr James MacNeill and Rev Chris Macrae, and prayers by Rev Donald MacQuarrie.

Soloist Margaret Ford from Acharacle and Lochaber fiddler Angus Grant will be joined by youngsters from Lochaber Music School and Mallaig High School Choir.
The Kilmallie Singers and members of other churches throughout the area will join the local congregation in well-known Gaelic Christmas Carols.

With the focus very much on the family at Christmas, the programme travels throughout Lochaber visiting young and old, joining Christmas celebrations and activities as well as highlighting the importance of community bonds.
