A BRAND new series of ‘Air an Rathad / On the Road’, Scotland’s very own popular car series, returns to screens on BBC ALBA with top cars, top speeds and top entertainment.

True to form, the Air an Rathad team of Fiona Mackenzie, Murray MacLeod and Calum Iain MacKenzie have been busy travelling all over the country to bring you the best of the summer’s high-octane motorsport action, and all the very latest car models, including the World Car of the Year, the VW Up, The Subaru BRZ and the electric Renault Twizy.

The new series roars into action with coverage of the Solway Junior Rally, where competitors aged 14 to 16 show off their driving skills.

Calum Iain puts his foot down in a Subaru BRZ and the team welcome a new presenter – mechanic Donald Neil Macleod, better known to all as Cudig – who shares his extensive knowledge of classic cars in a brand new weekly features: but will you agree with his choices?

Series highlights include a very eager Calum Iain paying a visit to the Lotus track in Norwich where he test drives the Exige S. Fiona tries her hand at Banger Racing, at Crimond Raceway, where she shows them what Rudhach women are made of, and Murray is in seventh heaven as he gets behind the wheel of a Monster Truck.

Air an Rathad veteran ‘Rollover Roy’ has come out of retirement and is back on the rallying circuit this year competing in his Peugeot 205.

The team catch up with him at the Speyside Rally, but will he live up to his name?

And, what do you get when you put together shellsuits, segways and a Royal pastime – the Wacky Races of course!

Can Murray and Fiona get the better of Calum Iain this year, or is he on for the hat-trick?

The brand new series of Air an Rathad begins on tomorrow night (Thursday, November 15th) at 10pm on BBC ALBA.
