Stornoway RNLI Lifeboat Station is the place to be this Saturday (July 20th) for all the family fun of the charity’s annual Open Day.
Open from 1pm to 4pm, an afternoon of family fun is planned. Come and take a tour of the ‘Tom Sanderson’ lifeboat and the town’s RNLI Station and meet Stormy Stan (RNLI mascot), as well as enjoying garden games, bouncy castle, face painting, teas, coffees and home baking.
Also this year will be an Emergency Services Tug of War – with the winners presented a trophy donated by Sportsworld.
And there’s a chance to scoop some seriously good prizes in the Open Day Raffle – including one car and four person return journey from Stornoway to Ullapool from Caledonian MacBrayne; a two person RIB excursion with Seatrek; two full lengths of designer Harris Tweed with thanks from Harris Tweed Hebrides; Scottish Salmon vouchers for tasty salmon treats, as well as prizes from Stag Bakery, the Crofters, Home Improvement Centre and the Fisherman’s Co-Op.
Stornoway Coastguard will also take part in the RNLI Open Day and seafarers can seek advice from the RNLI Sea Safety marquee, as well as get their lifejackets checked over with a Stornoway RNLI Lifejacket Safety Clinic.
An afternoon of excellent family fun in support of your local lifesavers – come on down and have a great time.
