After a successful week-long Fèis in Iochdar School which attracted over 90 participants, Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain are preparing their winter evening classes programme which will commence at the beginning of November.
Fèis Tìr a’ Mhurain has been running for 22 years, preserving their local heritage and providing a vast number of opportunities for young people, as young as 5, to learn about their local culture in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The evening classes will be available in two locations making them more accessible to local children. A variety of instruments will be offered in Daliburgh and Iochdar including drumming, chanter and guitar.
Over the last few years Fèis Tir a’ Mhurain has been run by a small dedicated team of parents who have decided to step down from the committee after several years of service. This means that a new committee is needed to take the Fèis movement on South Uist forward.
An opportunity to ask questions and to join the committee will be available on Saturday 8 October when Fèis Tir a’ Mhurain will hold their Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm in Stoneybridge hall.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like further information contact the Fèis at firstname.lastname@example.org or Jenna Morrison, Western Isle Development officer on 01859 502600 or email@example.com
