Hardy Harris hotelier to go non-stop

Harris hotelier, Tim Martin is bidding next month to cycle and walk the Great Glen Way in aid of a cancern charity.

Tim, of Scarista House, will be taking part in Maggie’s Challenge in 10 days’ time.

Explained Tim: “I want to do this because so many people I know have had their lives affected by cancer.

“A Maggie’s Centre is a place to turn to for help with any of the problems, small or large, associated with cancer. Maggie’s is an amazing charity.”

The Great Glen Way is an overland route which snakes 73 miles from Fort William to Inverness and takes in some of the most spectacular scenery in the Highlands of Scotland.

And to make the journey even tougher participants in Maggie’s Challenge is non-stop. “This is a continuous day and night journey with no stop for sleep. Those of you who have seen me asleep at their dinner tables, or indeed my own, may wonder at my attempt,” joked Tim.
