Former Sir E Scott pupil Ruth Cameron Dawkins is celebrating after reaching the finals of a national awards programme to find the UK’s Best Parent blogs.
Ruth’s blog DorkyMum is one of just five finalists in the Best New Blog category of the MAD Blog Awards see website beating more than 2,000 other blogs nominated in the awards. Ruth said: “When I started blogging last May as a way to get back into writing after two years as a full time parent, I had no idea what it would lead to. In the year that DorkyMum has been up and running I’ve been overwhelmed by the number of people who have read and commented on the blog.
“Some of the topics I’ve written about have also led to me being published elsewhere – such as in the Guardian and Easy Living magazine.
“To be nominated as Best New Blog in the MADS is a huge honour - a perfect end to my first year as a blogger - and I couldn’t be more thrilled!”
Blog readers around the UK are now invited to vote for their favourite blogs at the MAD Blog Awards website, and the winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony in London in September.
