SCOTTISH Youth Theatre is seeking budding actors and technicians (aged eight to 25) across Scotland to take part in Summer Festival 2013.

This flagship event brings together young drama enthusiasts to take part in courses ranging from one to six weeks, from performing arts to technical production.

“Scottish Youth Theatre’s Summer Festival has something to offer everyone,” says Keegan Friel, Senior Marketing and Communications Officer of Scottish Youth Theatre.

“Every summer, hundreds of young people who are passionate about theatre and performance take part.

The six week Performance and Production Learning Programme also offers young people the opportunity to gain a qualification upon completion of the course, which is SQA credit rated that sits between the Higher/Advanced Higher level on the SCQF at level seven with 29 points.

Continued Keegan: “The Summer Festival gives young people a fantastic insight into the thriving world of theatre and the opportunity to make friends with other young people there are with the same interests.”

Previous participants of Summer Festival at Scottish Youth Theatre include Gerard Butler (Law Abiding Citizen, 300), Karen Gillan (Dr.Who), Andrew Still (Hollyoaks) and Kirstie Steele (Waterloo Road).
