Drag Race success for Lewis Car Club

HOPING for a repeat success performance, Lewis Car Club look to hold the first Drag Race of 2013 on June 1st at Stornoway Airport.
Last June, in association with Highlands and Islands Airports, the Lewis Car Club organised a Drag Race meeting – dedicated to Club member Andrew ‘Tibby’ Macleod, who was taken away for too early in life by an undiagnosed heart condition.
The fantastic sum of £1,735 was raised at the event and all funds raised were given to the nominated charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
Pictured are Stornoway Airport Firecrew looking on as Lewis Car Club Chairman Norman Maclean and HIAL Airport Manager Duncan Smith present the fund raising cheque to Iain N Campbell, who received the donation on behalf of the Macleod family.
With a number of mainland cars expressing an early interest in taking part in the Lewis Car Club’s Drag Race, it is hoped that the 2013 event will prove just as popular.
