SHOWCASING the newest bands and artists from Scotland and having established itself as one of the country’s top music shows, Rapal TV is to make a welcome return to the BBC ALBA small screen this week.

Hosted by Emma MacInnes and Vic Galloway, the new 12 part series kicks off on Thursday (February 21st) with studio sets from John Wean, Paul McGranaghan, Discopolis and The Holy Ghosts.

From Uddingston, John Wean are soon to release their début studio album and perform their track ‘New York Doesn’t Love You’, which has already received Radio 1 airplay.

Also visiting the Rapal TV studio is Largs based singer-songwriter Paul McGranaghan with his stand-out track ‘Brown Buffalo’ from his acclaimed 2012 début release ‘Carry The Torch’.

And joining John Wean and Paul on the opening programme is Edinburgh acoustic-electronic band Discopolis with a rendition of their track ‘Lofty Ambitions & Zenithobia’ – a choice of presenter Vic Galloway in Rapal TV’s weekly feature: ‘According to Vic’.

Completing the opening week’s line-up will be The Holy Ghosts, an Edinburgh rock and roll five-piece who’ll perform their single ‘Staring Down the Barrel’, taken from their ‘The Devil On Your Side’ EP.

Acts set to perform throughout the series include: Brown Bear & The Bandits; Anna Sweeney; Holy Mountain; Cara Mitchell; Niteworks; Ray McCartney & The Ramisco Maki Maki Rocking Horse; as well as the Wat Wat Kings; Miaoux Miaoux; The Merrylees; The Blind Wolves; Beerjacket and The Open Day Rotation.

Rapal TV will be broadcast on BBC ALBA on Thursday, February 21st, from 10pm and repeated on Friday, February 22nd at 11.30pm.
