The Lifestyle Centre in Stornoway provides support and counselling to people in Lewis and Harris with substance misuse problems. CrossReach, the Social Care Council of The Church of Scotland, has operated this service for 20 years.
The centre is facing financial challenges resulting in a significant funding deficit and CrossReach is keen to see the much needed work of the service continue but our charitable funds are already fully committed for this year.
The Director of Adult Care for CrossReach, Calum Donald Murray, is planning to hold a number of meetings to highlight this issue to local churches, other interested parties and the wider community, to see if we can secure the financial resources to continue this service until the next round of funding is available.
These information and discussion meetings will take place in: Lifestyle Centre, Clinton’s Yard, Rigs Road, Stornoway on Monday 30th July 2012 at 7.00 p.m; Clan MacQuarrie Community Centre, Borve on Tuesday 31st July 2012 at 7.00 p.m.; Ravenspoint Centre, Kershader on Wednesday 1st August 2012 at 7.00 p.m.; Uig Comminity Centre on Thursday 2nd August 2012 at 8.00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
