WESTERN Isles MSP Alasdair Allan last night (Thursday) addressed the Glasgow Lewis and Harris Association annual dinner in Glasgow as guest speaker, and tonight will act as fear an taigh at the annual gathering.
Commenting Dr Allan said: “It was a great honour to speak to this 124th annual gathering of Glasgow Gaels. It was nice to speak about something non-political for a change and just extoll the virtues of the Western Isles- steering clear, I hope, of praising any one island or village above another!
“I pointed out that I am not a native of the islands, but that I may qualify as a Glasgow Gael in reverse, having learned Gaelic while living in Partick and then moved north!
“I wish the Lewis and Harris Association every success for the future.”
