The Barley’s were on the run for Parkinson’s UK, completing the Inverness Half Marathon on Sunday 17th March.

Total raised so far is £9,680.60 and there is still time donate at /www.justgiving.com/Barley-girls.

Shona Macleod along with her sister Lorna and brother-in-law Angus MacLennan took part in the race.

Shona is the middle daughter of Charles Macleod, better known as Charlie Barley and she works in the family business making the famous Stornoway black puddings. Her sister Lorna and brother-in-law Angus, originally form Loch Portan, North Uist, now live in Inverness with their two young sons Charlie and Ronnie.

The trio decided to run the Inverness Half Marathon in aid of Parkinson’s UK as Charlie Barley (64) was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s over 15 years ago. Charlie continued to live a full and very active life until a hip replacement operation resulted in him contracting an infection and spending much of the last 2 years in hospital.
