THE entertainment and live pub music, along with the rivalry of its quiz teams, can now be enjoyed from the comfort of your own sofa as BBC ALBA’s new Gun Sgot series comes to your screens next Thursday, (May 16th).

Set in the lounge of their local, cleverly located in the Fàs studio on Skye, three teams compete each week to see who can call time on the competition and claim ownership of the Gun Sgot pub bell.

Journalist and sports commentator Derek MacKay takes up the role of barman and host as he tests the knowledge of the punters while keeping them in order, and welcomes some of the best singer-songwriters in Scotland to the music snug.

Musicians featured throughout the series will include established and up and coming talent including Miss Irenie Rose (Lewis), Sorren MacLean (Mull), Willie Campbell (Lewis) and Rachel Cormack (Skye).

On this the pub’s opening night, Derek MacKay welcomes singer Dòmhnall Eòin MacKinnon, with Terry Balfour, to the pub, whilst teams from Glasgow, Skye and Aberdeen take up the challenge of finding out who really has their wits about them.
