A unique chance to hear a glimpse of the oral heritage of Scotland’s Islands has been offered up for free with the release of Guthan Eileanan na h-Alba/ Voices of Scotland’s Islands released by Tobar an Dualchais/Kist o Riches.

The CD comprises of a selection of recordings from 26 islands, includes tracks from the Western Isles, Inner Hebrides, Shetland, Orkney and Arran with the Uists, Lewis, Harris, Scalpay, Barra, Berneray and Vatersay providing unforgettable tracks.

The CD itself is just a taster of the 30,000 recording available to the public online at: www.tobarandualchais.co.uk. The project is a remarkable collaboration and sees thousands of hours of Scottish culture and oral history collected in one place.
