25th anniversary of Fèis Eilean an Fhraoich

Fèis Eilean an Fhraoich this year celebrates its 25th anniversary with a full programme of planned events.

Marking a quarter of a century on the local calendar, the week-long festival, one of 46 such Fèisean across Scotland, offers music and language tuition to youngsters and will be held in Stornoway Primary School between the July 27th and 31st.

To mark the 25th year, the Fèis will have an additional programme of events, including a special 25th birthday party for Fèis participants, tutors, parents and friends, evening concerts, street performances and group work sessions, culminating with a Grand Concert on the Friday evening in Stornoway Primary School.

The evening concerts will take place in Clan MacQuarrie Hall on Tuesday 28th July and An Lanntair on Wednesday 29th July, and will feature performances from a number of past and present Fèis tutors including Arthur Cormack, Mischa MacPherson, Catriona Watt, Norrie ‘Tago’ Maciver, Ewen Henderson, Seonaidh Macmillan and many more.
