999 service disruption

British Telecom has notified Police about a loss of the public 999 service in the following areas of the Force:

Eriskay (South Uist) - 100 lines affected.

Shawbost (Isle of Lewis) - 429 lines affected.

Torridon (Wester Ross) - 165 lines affected.

Glenmazeran (Tomatin) - 61 lines affected.

Engineers are in the process of looking into the problem at present.

Northern Constabulary officers will be patrolling the areas affected, however, mobile phone services should not be affected and members of the public can contact emergency services via these devices.
