Across the UK this Saturday communities are acknowledging and recognising what Britain's Armed Forces are doing both in UK and in operations overseas mostly in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Parades consisting of past present and future members of the Armed Forces will march through towns and cities to thank the Armed Forces for their enduring commitment, professionalism and self sacrifice in maintaining the fight against injustice and terrorism throughout the word.

To mark the occasion in Stornoway a Parade organised by the Royal British Legion and Queens Own Highlanders Association will step off from the Bridge Centre at 2pm on Saturday, June 27 and march via Bayhead to the Bus Station.

The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Western Isles and Convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar will take a Salute as the parade marches past the Town Hall. The parade will be lead by both local pipe bands. It is also hoped to have a flypast of the parade by coastguard helicopter.

Other organisations wishing to join the parade should form up at the Bridge Centre for 1.45pm where they will be advised of the format of the parade.
For further details contact C/Sgt O Hara at TA Centre Stornoway on 01851 703176.
