THE curtain will fall on HIE Innse Gall next week as the Enterprise company steps into a new era in its history.
A number of employees will leave the company having accepted a voluntary redundancy package and a radically different management structure will come into force across the Highlands and Islands.

Having started as Western Isles Enterprise and then changing to HIE Innse Gall, the island offices are now to be known just as HIE.

They will be part of the West section of the company and will be headed by current Area Director of HIE Innse Gall, Donnie Macaulay who will be responsible for Stornoway, Lionacleit and Lochgilphead.

A spokesperson for HIE was unable to confirm how many staff had accepted the severance package in Stornoway and Benbecula, however it is thought there were 60 throughout the organisation.
