NA h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP Angus MacNeil has written to BP in the strongest terms regarding their decision to terminate fuel cards for businesses in the islands.
The fuel cards which currently give a saving of at least  7.5p to businesses on the normal pump price will have massive financial implications on businesses in the islands and Mr MacNeil is urging BP to look again at this decision.

He is also writing to the Chancellor Alasdair Darling MP asking him to put pressure on BP to overturn this decision.

Mr MacNeil said: "This is another blow to businesses in the islands from a company which made a profit of £10 billion last year. It is simply not acceptable for BP to target businesses in rural areas, who in the current economic climate find business challenging. This is economically and socially irresponsible."
