Injured walker being treated in Stornoway

A MAN who sustained head injuries following a fall at Achnacamin in Sutherland is being treated at the Western Isles Hospital.
Stornoway Coastguard had called Lochinver Coastguard Rescue Team to the scene and informed the local police, who also sent a team to assist.
Lochinver lifeboat was launched to perform a coastal search.
Coastguard Rescue Helicopter Rescue 100 was also launched to use its infra red camera in an attempt to locate the missing man.
As the helicopter was getting airborne, the man was located by the Coastguard Rescue Team at the base of a set of cliffs.
The man was reported to have suffered head injuries in the fall and so the helicopter was tasked to transfer him to the Western Isles Hospital.
