Nicolson Rector confirmed
KEVIN Trewartha has been confirmed as Rector of The Nicolson Institute on a permanent basis.
This follows consultation between Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and the Parent Council of the Nicolson.
For the past year, he has served as Acting Rector following the appointment of the previous incumbent, Mr Derek Curran, to an Edinburgh school.
Murdo Macleod, the Comhairle's Director of Education said: "I am pleased that Mr Trewartha is to continue as Rector of the school on a permanent basis. This will provide stability and enable us to continue with the improvement agenda."
The Parent Council commented: "As a Parent Council, we look forward to continuing to work with Kevin Trewartha in his role as Rector of the School."
