Following the success of last year’s event, Sustainable Uist and The North Uist Development Company are coming together again on July 7th in Benbecula to showcase ‘A Taste of the Isles’.
The event will be held in Balivanich Hall in the Isle of Benbecula from 10am to 5pm and aims to promote local and island produce.
It aims to showcase the fantastic local food produced in the Islands by bringing together crofters, fishermen and local food businesses.
There will be displays, food for sale, and lots of tasty recipes. Attending the event will be Loch Duart, Hebridean Smokehouse, Maclean’s Bakery, A Taste of Barra, Charles MacLeod Butchers Stornoway, Stag Bakeries, Kallin Shellfish, Gluten Free Cakes, Abhainn Dearg Distillery, Hebridean Brewers, Hebridean Chocolates, Lawrence Beaton Butchers, Isle of Mull Cheese Company, Island Bakery Organics and many more. Throughout the day there will be cooking demonstrations from local chefs using local produce, fish filleting demonstrations and tastings.
