An additional Mental Health Consultation Meeting will be held on Monday 8th July from 11am-12.30pm in Tarbert Community Centre.
Everyone with an interest in the redesign of Mental Health services in the Western Isles is encouraged to attend.
Meetings held to date in Barra, Uist and Stornoway have provided valuable feedback, with those who attended providing constructive ideas and raising issues important to them. A meeting with Third Sector (voluntary) organisations will take place this evening.
The Public Consultation on Western Isles Health Board’s preferred option for Mental Health Services was launched in May, and the Consultation Document is available at www.wihb.scot.nhs.uk/publications/policies-and-strategies.
NHS Western Isles Medical Director Dr James Ward said: “Our aim is that high quality engagement and consultation with the public will take place over the consultation period, when we can discuss the detail of acute service configuration, community service modelling and partnership. The consultation process also allows for any specific concerns to be considered and discussed in detail.”
