THE 1st South Lochs Cubs and Scouts enjoyed another fun packed, adventure filled experience at the Lochgoilhead Activity Centre this October.

Following on from the success of last year’s trip, and with grateful thanks to Cllr Philip Maclean and Marine Harvest (Scotland) for their very generous contributions and of course the local community for getting behind the various fundraising activities held during the last 12 months, including an 80s Disco, Car Wash and gruelling sponsored Bike Ride to name but a few, this all culmlinated to make the trip possible.

We do of course rely on the support of local businesses and our local community to assist our scouting activities both financially and physically and would like to say a very big thank you to everyone.

This year’s trip was particularly rewarding and we would like to say congratulations to Ross Wilson, Lachie Ferguson, Ceit Smith and Chloe Campbell, who achieved their Paddlepower Start Certificate; and Nadia Makin, Aidan Collier, Beth Banerjee-Richards, Euan Smith and Ben Banerjee-Richards who achieved their RYA Sailing Level One Certificates.

Michael Ferguson, Sorley Malcom, Bronwyn Mackenzie and Hannah Mackenzie achieved their Scouts Climber Badge and with so many activities available at the Centre throughout the trip, all the Cubs and Scouts also gained their respective Adventure Challenge Badges.

There’s going to be a lot of sewing going on in South Lochs over the next few weeks! Well done everyone!
