A dedicated day of RNLI fundraising will be held in the grounds of Amhuinnsuidhe Castle on Saturday June 14th.
The event will be held from 1 – 4pm, and there will be a wide range of activities to suit all ages.
Teas/Coffees/Home-baking will be served in a marquee in the beautiful Amhuinnsuidhe Castle garden, and there will be a baking stall to allow people to buy “something sweet” to take away with them.
A raffle will be drawn on the day where prizes containing some of Amhuinnsuidhe Castle’s own local produce will be on offer. Among the items which can be won are some of the Estate’s unique smoked salmon range and their Malt Whisky. Tickets will be available to buy locally in the 2 weeks leading up to the event, and on the day itself.
Some local craftspeople will be selling their wares on the day, in addition to the popular RNLI Souvenir Stall. Children (and adults!) will have the chance to “Splat the Crew” – a popular activity at all the RNLI Fundraisers.
It is hoped that the Leverburgh Lifeboat, RNLB The Royal Thames will make the journey to Amhuinnsuidhe (pending operational commitments), where people will have a chance to go aboard and meet the crew.
Guided tours of both the inside of the castle and the castle gardens are being offered throughout the day. As spaces are limited on both tours, places must be booked in advance. This can be done by contacting the castle.
The day will be rounded off with a Grand Auction – where a variety of items will be available to bid on.
Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to use the shuttle bus which will depart from Tarbert at 12.30 pm, and return again after the event. Places on the bus must be reserved, and this can be done by contacting Amhuinnsuidhe Castle directly. Return tickets are £2 for adults and £1 for children.
