A fresh appeal for accommodation has come from the local organising committee of Mòd nan Eilean Siar 2011, ahead of the Royal National Mod, which begins in just over a month’s time. Convenor of the Committee Alex MacDonald commented:
“Members of the public who have additional accommodation to offer during Mod week, which runs from the 14th until the 22nd of October, are encouraged to get in touch. All the choirs have been allocated places and keen Mod goers have already booked up their beds in local hotels and guest houses – but there are always those who leave booking accommodation until the last minute! It is not envisaged that there will be any accommodation issues and we are extremely confident that every person who wishes to attend the Mod will have a place to stay. However if you have spares rooms which you are willing to rent out or if you are away during Mod week and have a house you could rent out, we would love to hear from you. Bed and breakfast and guest house owners who may not have booked out all their rooms or have had recent cancellations are also being urged to get in touch”.
