After two days where twenty debates took place between the Comhairle’s Debating Chamber and An Lanntair the judges came to a decision as to what four schools would face each other in the semi-final stages of the 2015 National Schools’ Debate competition.
The four teams who have progressed to this stage are Nicolson Institute A, Nicolson Institute B, Ard nam Murchan High School and Tain Royal Academy.
These four teams will take part in the semi-finals which take place at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh on Tuesday the 24th of November with the finals taking place the following evening and going out live on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal from the Scottish Parliament.
It was agreed that the new format for the competition was a success. Every team had the opportunity to debate twice and points were given out to each school following their debates.
The four teams with the highest points after the first two rounds progressed through to the final stages of this prestigious competition.
