Bangla Spice in Stornoway have been highly commended in the Tiffin Cup 2011.
The restaurant were nominated by Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP MP Angus MacNeil. The Tiffin Cup is an annual event organised by a cross party group of MP’s known as the Tiffin Club. Each MP is invited to nominate one South Asian restaurant from their constituency to go through to a regional final. Although Bangla Spice did not make it through to the Grand Final which will be held in London on Wednesday 6 July, they have been highly commended by the judges.
Angus MacNeil said: “Having nominated Bangla Spice, I am delighted that they have been highly commended in this year’s competition.
“It is unfortunate that they did not manage to reach the Grand Final, but this is such a prestigious award and to be honoured in this way is testament to the fantastic efforts of all the staff at Bangla Spice.”
