The future of air ambulance services to and from Barra were back on the agenda this week.
A public meeting was held on the island on Monday and Alasdair Allan MSP joined in through a videolink from Stornoway.
Commenting after the meeting, he said: “It is clear that there is a strong feeling in Barra to ensure the island gets the air ambulance service it deserves when new contracts are finalised for the service.
“I undertook to take up a number of issues of key concern, such as improving the response time for call outs, and also ensuring that the aircraft used are capable of getting to Barra in adverse weather. “I will raise these issues both with the Scottish Ambulance Service and with Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon.”
