Assault, theft, and vandalism persist

On October 6 at 4pm, a 63-year-old male was arrested in Bayhead for an alleged assault on a 55-year-old female. A report has been sent to the Crown.

October 6 saw vandalism occur at the Woodlands Centre between 5.30pm and 7.30am the next day (7th). A window was smashed and police appeal for any witnesses to call 101 or Crimestoppers.

There was an alleged theft from a motor vehicle, October 8, about 9.15pm on Lewis Street. A 42-year-old male was arrested and remanded in custody, and he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court, October 9.

On October 10, at 3am in the Plasterfield area, two males were reported fighting, with a 21-year-old male being arrested. A report will be sent to the Crown.

A theft was reported from the Co-operative on Cromwell Street, October 10, when a male allegedly stole alcohol around 10am. Police are appealing for any information to be directed to their non-emergency number 101 or confidential charity, Crimestoppers.

An 18-year-old male was arrested for being threatening and abusive at 1.25am, October 11, on Bank Street. A report will be sent to the Crown.

Vandalism occurred between 5pm, October 9, and 10pm that same night, at the public car-park on North Beach Street. A damaged Vauxhall Corsa was scratched and police are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
