To welcome summer visitors and give locals an excuse for a good evening out, the Caladh Inn in Stornoway are organising a traditional ceilidh for most Saturday evenings.
In a recent survey by Cala Hotels, around a quarter of visitors indicated that they hope to enjoy traditional music, but, short of gate-crashing a wedding, it has not been easy for them to find an event.
A resident band has formed specially for the season, known as The Islands Ceilidh Band with D.B, Murdigan and Kenny Murdo and the ceilidhs take place in the Garry Ballroom at the hotel.
Christina Maciver, General Manager at the Caladh Inn, said: “For just £3 a head, this is a great opportunity to make new friends and we hope local people will help teach the steps to visitors.”
The ceilidhs will be every Saturday in June from 8pm until 10.30pm plus most Saturdays in July and August.
Tickets are on sale at the door.
