CONCERNS tourism in the western Isles is being hampered by the lack of information on the islands have again been raised by Conservative Highlands and Islands MSP Mary Scanlon.

Speaking at a Tourism debate earlier this month Ms Scanlon pointed out to Environment Minister, Fergus Ewing, that parts of VisitScotland’s Website omits the majority of the Highlands and Islands and has called for improvements - particularly in regards to walking opportunities on the islands.

Ms Scanlon said: “I was disappointed to see that a section of VisitScotland’s website breaks down Scotland into north, central and south areas...and to see that Orkney, Shetland, the Western Isles and three quarters of the Highlands are omitted.”
