The highly successful CBeebies children’s series, Katie Morag comes to BBC ALBA as ‘Ceitidh Morag’.

Featuring all the well-loved characters from the original series of books by Mairi Hedderwick, the delightful Gaelic voice of Katie Morag is provided by Maia Murray Pickering (10) from Lewis as she voices the main character originally played by Cherry Campbell.

BBC ALBA’s younger viewers will be able to enjoy ‘Ceitidh Mòrag’ on her adventures around the Isle of Struay where she lives, as you get to meet her family and friends.

With help from mum and dad, granny island and granny mainland, you will find out about the amazing and interesting things which happen on the island.

Margaret Cameron, Channel Editor at BBC ALBA said “Working with colleagues at CBeebies and Move On Up was great fun and they provided us with the fantastic opportunity to bring Ceitidh Mòrag to BBC ALBA.

“I’m sure Ceitidh Mòrag will prove a hit on BBC ALBA just as it has on CBeebies.”

Katie Morag was produced by Cromarty based Move On Up for CBeebies with Obh Obh Productions producing the Gaelic version at their dubbing facility in Stornoway for BBC ALBA.

The series will commence on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014, at 5pm and each consecutive Tuesday thereafter.
