A book signing event will take place tomorrow (Friday) morning at the Harris Tweed Hebrides Harris Tweed shop, Stornoway from 11am until noon.
The book is an educational book, created around the Blackhouse Cottages on The Isle of Lewis, and Harris Tweed, and teaches 4 to 8 year old children about the art, the craft and the emotion of colour.
‘Weaver of a Life in Colour’, is sponsored by the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) a charity based in UK, who supports the education of colour around the World.
The Harris tweed Authority have placed the book in every Primary School and Library in The Outer Hebrides, and Harris tweed Hebrides are supporting the sale of the book in their shop in Stornoway.
So far the book has been placed in to 380 Primary schools, with 50 in The Outer Hebrides.
Author Malcolm Campbell, says: “I am working with SDC to get the book in to every Primary school in UK, a total of over 22,000 in Scotland and England.
“We are launching a colouring competition to introduce the book to all children in all Primary Schools in ever local authority in Scotland and England.
Malcolm has three other books written to publish in September, December and March 2015, educating children further about colour, textiles, the environments, the moon, the tides, and the dangers of not protecting our planet.
