On Saturday the emphasis of the HebCelt shifts temporarily from music to shinty and the annual ‘Clash of the Ash’ between Hebridean rivals Lewis Camanachd and Uist Camanachd.

The teams go head-to-head for the Hebridean Celtic Festival Inter-Island Shinty Challenge Trophy, a fixture that is now a traditional part of Festival Saturday and one that always attracts a big crowd.

A dramatic match is promised with Lewis determined to hold on to the cup they won last year and Uist hungry to get their hands back on the trophy.

The game begins at 2pm on Saturday, July 14th at the Bayhead Pitch (beside Stornoway Golf Club) in Stornoway Castle Grounds.
