Horshader Community Development Ltd (HCD) are edging ever closer to getting their 900kW wind turbine project up and generating electricity.
An open day this Saturday the 12th November in Shawbost Old School from 10am to 2pm, will see the community group detail plans for the Dalmor, Dalbeag and South Shawbost area.
This open day will be a chance for the wider community to be updated as to project progress, hear more about plans for any income coming into the area and state what they see as the community needs locally.
HCD would like to invite all those in the community who are interested in the project or the potential benefits to the area to attend. Soup and sandwiches will be available.
Also present on Saturday will be representatives from The Energy Advisory Service, Community Energy Scotland and the Energy Saving Scotland Advice Centre.
These bodies will support HCD in explaining how they have got to the stage they are at presently and also what could be done with the potential income to help tackle community issues like fuel poverty, transport and employment in the future.
