Council seeks views on conservation plans

The Comhairle is seeking views on a draft Management Plan for Gearrannan, Stornoway, Howmore and Ruisgarry Conservation Areas. This is part of a wider consultation of a new Outer Hebrides Local Development Plan.

There will be a small exhibition in Gearrannan Blackhouse village on Tuesday 11th October between 2pm and 7pm to illustrate the new policies. Residents and visitors will have the opportunity discuss the draft plan and to submit their views and comments in writing.

A similar event will be held in Stornoway Town Hall on 26th October.

The events are open to anyone with an interest in the future of the Blackhouse village and the Stornoway Conservation Area. All comments will be used in finalising the policies for the future.

Details of events to be held in Howmore and Ruisgarry will be issued in the near future.
