Doing well at Mod and Championships

The Lynn Maclean Highland dancers recently travelled to take part in the Royal National Mod and the North of Scotland Championships.

The sections were much bigger than they are used to dancing in at home but the girls kept their nerve.

The older girls placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in many of their dances and the younger ones also placed well and all collected medals.

Megan Crawford and Amy Macleod danced in a Pre-Championship section of a very high standard, with both girls achieving 1st placings for some of their dances within the section - it was a nerve wracking wait for their overall results, with Megan placing second in the section and winning a trophy.

The girls enjoyed their time away, taking part in the Mod, they experienced a Championship Competition and then enjoyed watching Champion Dancers from all over Scotland, picking up a few tips, which they will put to good use at their next competition here on the Islands.

The next competition will be held on November 8th at The Stornoway Primary School, email: chrisannemacleod@yahoo.co.uk for entry forms.
