Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Department of Education and Children’s Services recently held their annual Conference for Head Teachers and Senior Managers.
The Conference, which was staged in St Columba’s Hall in Stornoway, was attended by almost 50 delegates from the Butt to Barra.
Staged over two half days, attendees were given presentations on the latest educational developments at both local and national level.
Conference attendees met with different sections of the Education and Children’s Services Department, through a series of short presentations and workshops.
This proved to be very beneficial to the delegates as they were given the opportunity to meet Officers from sections such as the Gaelic Multimedia Unit, IT, Extended Learning, Gaelic, Management Information Systems and Early Years.
During these short presentations the opportunity was given to discuss the continuity of the delivery of a first class educational service to the children of the Western Isles and how best everyone can work together.
