Over £25,000 has been raised this summer by the Western Isles Emergency Services who completed a charity cycle from Barra to the Butt of Lewis in June.

The team of 31, who included representatives from all the emergency services and supporters, have raised £25,000 FOR the local branch of MacMillan Nurses and also £2,000 for the Lewis and Harris Youth Clubs Association who provided accommodation in the Scaladale Centre en route.

Tonight (Friday), they are holding a celebration in the Rangers Club in Stornoway which will include an auction and raffle.

The auction includes some great prizes such as 500 litres of heating oil.

The event starts at 8pm and all are welcome.

All funds raised tonight will go to MacmMillan Nurses.
