The Gaelic Society of London finished its spring season recently with a ceilidh in aid of its Education Fund.

Neil Campbell of Benbecula, 2011 Mod Gold Medallist, the special guest, was warmly welcomed to London by a very appreciative audience.

Society piper John Angus Smith (London and South Uist) included in his performance a composition by Neil’s father, Calum, a well-known piper and composer.

Anna McCrae (Barra) and Iain Macleod (Ness) also contributed songs to a hugely enjoyable evening’s entertainment.

Proceeds from the event go to support the annual Gaelic conversation competition which has been running for many years now, attracting entries from schools throughout Scotland.

The Society meets again in September.
