The Lochside Arena Annual Show was held on August 9th and 10th.

This exhibition of equine excellence saw 32 competitors and their horses taking part in various disciplines including Dressage and Show Jumping.

Talking about the event, Lochside Arena Chair, Fiona Chisholm said: “The 2013 Show went very well and the organisers were delighted with the turnout.

“This was the first year a Dressage Section was included in the Show and this was very well received by all the competitors.

“A party of competitors and their horses travelled up from Uist to take part in the two day show, and they throughly enjoyed their time at the show, saying they will definitely be back to participate again soon.

Now that Lochside Arena has been completed, it was a test to see how the faciltiy would stand up to the two days of competition, and it worked very well.

“We hope that this will be the start of many competitons, displays and events held in Lewis throughout the year.”
