Preparations are well under way for Fèis Eilean an Fhraoich which will take place between Monday 23rd and Friday 27th July in Stornoway Primary School.

Construction works at the usual venue of the Nicolson Institute, Stornoway has meant that alternative arrangements had to be made and the Primary School looks to be an excellent venue to host the event.

Tuition Classes will be held throughout the week in Traditional Gaelic Singing, Gaelic Drama, Highland Dancing and BBC Media. Instrumental classes are available in Guitar, Accordion, Melodeon, Fiddle, Drumming, Clarsach, Keyboard, Chanter and Piping.

A Cròileagan and Primary 1-3 Class is held for younger participants and Teen Fèis classes are available for intermediate to advanced participants.

Various sports activities and games will take place at lunch and break times in the school grounds, including a Participants versus Tutors football match.

A Showcase Concert will be held in An Lanntair on Wednesday 25th July at 7.30pm, featuring Alasdair White, Norrie Maciver, Catriona Watt, Joy Dunlop, Jenna Cumming and various other Fèis tutors.

The Fèis will draw to a close on the Friday evening with a Grand Concert in the Stornoway Primary Assembly Hall featuring performances from the children.

Entry forms are available from Leverhulme House, Perceval Square, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. Further information is available on 01851 70 3487.
